BOOT & BACK CHARITY RIDE: 30 JUNE 2010
Long standing Richmond Cycling Club member Arthur Caygill, his son Scott and friend Steve Tarran completed a gruelling 209 mile ride from Richmond to Boot, in the Lake District, and back to Richmond on Wednesday 30th June 2010. The route took in Tan Hill, before entering Cumbria via Kaber and Baras, culminating with Hardknott and Wrynose passes at the 1/2 way point - twice! Once going west, then again coming back east.
The ride was organised by Scott Caygill in aid of Cancer Research UK, after Carole, Scott's mother and Arthur's wife spent a terrible few years battling with the disease. Carole is now in remission and it's a credit to cancer scientists when people who, like Carole, suffering with the disease manage to beat it.
Scott's aim is to raise over £3000 for Cancer Research, a target which he's not far off now. Help him to reach this target by donating here: http://www.justgiving.com/scott-caygill

Well done to Arthur, Scott and Steve! Same again next year?!
PS: Clarky and Sven will be jealous of the route - they've been wanting a challenging 200+ miler to get their teeth into for some time!

Welcome to Richmond Cycling Club. 5 years in, and we continue to go from strength to strength.
Currently the club consists of around 40 members who are active in many cycling disciplines, at many different standards. The Sunday club run is our most regular fixture, but there are members who participate in the Croft Circuit Racing Series and other local road races; the North East Cyclocross League; long distance Audax and Cyclosportive rides; local time trials, along with all manner of informal riding and racing. Our big event this year (as last) is the Richmond Meet Grand Prix - a whole weekend of the highest quality cycle riding and racing in one of the best cycling areas in the country.
Enjoy exploring the site, join the Forum, and get in contact. We're always keen to encourage new members, whatever their experience.
