Last week our very own Ade Dent was competing in the World Masters Track Cycling championships at Manchester velodrome.
He won the bronze medal in the 500m Time Trial in a time of 34.956 just missing silver by 1/100th of a second and gold by 1/10th. He also competed in the sprint, but "only" (his words) managed 6th.
I don't know about you, but 6th in the World sounds pretty acceptable to me, but he tells me cheesed off to have missed winning the 500m TT because on this rare occasion he fluffed his start. He says it's his next year - so more burnt rubber along the Reeth road this spring then.
This also comes on the back of the Masters Nationals where he won the national champs uk 500m TT and finished 2nd in the sprint.
Finally, if you were wondering why he's not wearing RCC kit it's because he rides first named club as Team Terminator "...only because they are a pure track club and the advice and coaching I recieve is one of the only ways I've been able to reach the level I have. Richmond CC is my 2nd named club on my BC licence."
Congratulations Ade from everyone in the club !
